The Platbos pendulums are hand-crafted by a wood turner in De Kelders.

The wood used in the creation of our pendulums comes from wind-fallen branches gathered at Platbos Forest Reserve. Melissa carefully collects and stores these. Because of this, supply is limited and certain wood types are more scarce than others. Being made from dead wood, sometimes there is decay in the wood grain and this our wood turner fills with copper threads. This adds interesting character and makes each pendulum unique.

To date, the pendulums are made up on a chain and, depending on availability, a gem stone or amber bead.

In the future we may be moving away from both the chain and gem stones and towards more sustainable and earth-friendly materials.
